Specification of steam plant water Softener System

Water Softener Pcs. 1

Supply, install and startup a complete factory assembled, inspected and certificated twin tank water softener system capable of supplying continuous softened water at 25 m3/hr working flow rate suitable for a 20000 Kg/hr steam boiler. The water softener shall be equipped with its all accessories, controls and control panel. The controller shall be completely automatic and sequence all steps of regeneration & return the softener to a service or stand-by mode and alternate the duplex units. The time between regeneration for each tank not less than 48 working hours. The water softener shall be equipped with its all accessories, controls and control panel include the following:

· Softener tank construction, coating and linings

· Tank distribution system design and piping

· Main operating valves

· Control system and flow meter

· Exchange resin

· Brine system

· Accessories including pressure gauge and test kit

· Special tools and/or devices required for maintenance

Also supply a chemical dosing unit with its control device and required chemical for one year of operation.

The existing raw water specification are :

· Working pressure : 5 bar g

· Working temperature range : 15-45 C

· Total hardness : 150 ppm

· Ph : 7.23

Submittals

The supplier must submit the inspection certificates for softeners with serial number for them and essential documents of shipment. Also:

* layout of softeners piping diagram

* Complete catalog information and outline drawings of softeners and accessories including tube removal space and access door opening space

* catalog cuts showing arrangement and construction of pressure parts, casing, internals, and support frame

* piping connection, sizes, locations, types ( threaded or flanged )

* design pressures and temperatures

* necessary spare parts for two years of operation with itemized price

* itemized price list for all component ( imported & local ) CIF delivery

* the period of guarantee must start after finish of the erection of the softeners completely and the primary acceptance
