1 Basic information

Name:

cyanuric acid or isocyanuric acid (1,3,5-Triazine-2,,4,6-trio1,2,4,6-Trihydroxy-s-triazine)

Molecular formula:

C3H3N3O3

Molecular weight:

129.07

CAS NO.:

108-80-5

2 Physicochemical properties:

(1)   White crystal  or white granule

(2)   Depolymerize into cyanic acid and isocyanic acid at about 330, the pH value of saturated solution is over 4.0

(3)   Water precipitation includes 2 molecular crystal water, relative density is 1.768 (0), air-slake in air because of moisture loss; precipitation from concentrated hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid is anhydrous crystal.

(4)   1g is soluble in about 200ml water, without smell, a little bitter in taste.

(5)   The product can exist in the form of ketone form or isocyanuric acid.

(6)   Soluble in hot water, hot ketone, pyridine, concentrated hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid without decomposition, also soluble in NaOH and KOH water solution, insoluble in cold alcohol, ether, acetone, benzene and chloroform.

3 Applications:

(1)   Mainly used in the production of cyanuric acid bromide, chloride, bromochloride, iodochloride and its cyanuric acid salts, esters

(2)   Used to compound new sterilization disinfectant, the water treatment agent, decolorizer, chlorinating agent, the brominating agent, the antioxidant, paint coating, the selective herbicide and the metal cyaniding moderator

(3)   Also can be directly used as the swimming pool chlorine stabilizer; the nylon, the plastic, the polyester fire retardant and the cosmetics additive; the compound of dedicated resin.

4 Specification, model:
