How to Make Hair Gel
Hair gels make great styling products and you can try several hairstyles using them. These gels bring a nice shine and give a soft texture to your locks.
Although there are many ready-made products available in the market, you can also prepare them by yourself at home.
Homemade hair gel is not only economic, but it is also good for your tresses, since it does not contain added preservatives and chemicals.
All the ingredients used for making homemade hair gels are natural and safe to use. Here are some recipes for the same.

Materials Required:
Agar Agar, ½ cup
Aloe vera gel, ¼ cup
Essential oil (for aroma), 10 drops
Directions:
Agar agar is basically derived from seaweed and is used in making many of the jelly recipes.
It is known for its elastic properties, and you can also make great hair gel out of it.
First step in this recipe is to dissolve the agar agar granules.
Pour some water into a saucepan and add the agar agar flakes to it.
Heat the saucepan until the flakes dissolve completely.
Once the flakes have dissolved, remove the saucepan from heat and whisk the essential oil and aloe vera into it.
Transfer the solution to a container and refrigerate it for at least 6 hours.
You can also refrigerate it overnight if you wish.
When the solution is set, you can use the gel for your hair.
You can store this homemade hair gel at normal temperature in your bathroom.

Materials Required:
Unflavored gelatin, ½ teaspoon
Warm water, 1 cup
Aloe vera gel, ½ teaspoon
Essential oil
Directions:
To make this homemade hair gel, first heat a cup of water in a small pot.
Just before the water comes to a boil, remove the pot from heat.
Then, add aloe vera gel and unflavored gelatin to the warm water.
If you want to use essential oil for fragrance, you can also add few drops of it.
Then, mix all the ingredients together to attain a smooth and thick texture.
If you find that the mixture has become too runny or watery, then sprinkle small amount of gelatin in it and keep stirring the mixture.
Stir the mixture to attain a gel-like consistency.
Store this mixture in a used gel container or in some Tupperware container.
You should keep this hair gel in the refrigerator when not in use.

Materials Required:
Glycerin soap bar
Water
Directions:
Take a bowl and grate the glycerin soap bar in it.
Grate the soap very finely and then add a small amount of water to it.
Then, blend the grated soap and the water together.
Blend the mixture to attain a thick texture.
Your homemade hair gel is almost ready. Simply apply it to your hair and get your desired hairstyle.

Whole flax seeds, ¾ Cup
Water, 3 cups
Lavender essential oil, 4 drops
Almond oil, 1 tablespoon
Directions:
Take a small pot and pour water into it.
Bring the water to a boil on high heat.
Then, stir in the whole flax seeds and reduce the heat to medium-high.
Simmer the seeds in water for about 6-7 minutes.
Keep stirring the mixture constantly.
Then, pour the mixture into another container by straining the seeds.
In a small cup, add 4 drops each of lavender to almond oil and mix them together.
Add these oils to the gel and mix them well.
Your hair gel is ready.
Store it in a container and refrigerate it for about 15 minutes.
You need to preserve this gel in the refrigerator for longer use.
