Packing&Storage of:
POLY-ALUMINIUM CHLORIDE (PAC)
Packing of Poly-aluminium chloride (PAC):
plastic woven bag lined with plastic film bag, net weight: 25kg/bag; or according to the clients' requirements;
Storage of Poly-aluminium chloride (PAC):
1)not to pack, transport and store together with toxic matters, keep away from water and moisture, not to damage package;
do small-scale test according to the quality of water before using and decide the optimal point to achieve excellent water purifying effect and low use level; prepare solution just before using and not to place it for more than 24 hours; according to the practical situation to decide the use level for non-drinking water;
2)if using solid product, first add 10-15 times of water to dissolve, then add water to dilute to needed concentration; slowly add material into water and continuously mix when dissolving,.
3)if using liquid product, add water to dilute to needed concentration.
4)Store in a cool place out of direct sunlight. Store in well ventilated area. Store away from oxidizing agents and foodstuffs. 5)Prevent severe overheating as overheating may produce hydrogen chloride gas.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
EXPOSURE STANDARDS
No value assigned for this specific material by the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission (Worksafe Australia).
ENGINEERING CONTROLS
Use in a well-ventilated area. Local exhaust ventilation is recommended.
PERSONAL PROTECTION
Avoid skin and eye contact and inhalation of dust. Wear overalls, eye protection & gloves. Respiratory protection is required in dusty environment. Use an approved dust mask. Use with adequate ventilation. Always wash hands before smoking, eating, drinking or using the toilet.
FLAMMABILITY
Not flammable
SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
STORAGE AND TRANSPORT
Not defined as a Dangerous Good by the Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail.
Store in a cool place out of direct sunlight. Store in well ventilated area. Store away from oxidizing agents and foodstuffs. Prevent severe overheating as overheating may produce hydrogen chloride gas.
SPILLS
Wear protective equipment to prevent skin and eye contamination and inhalation of dust. Sweep up but avoid generating dust. Collect and place in properly labelled containers for disposal. Residues may be flushed to drain with large amounts of water if permitted.
DISPOSAL
Refer to State Land Waste Management Authority.
FIRE/EXPLOSION HAZARDS

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:
Water spray, foam, dry agent (carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder).
. Stability & Reactivity.
Stability Stable under normal conditions.
Materials to avoid Strong alkalis, chlorites, hypochlorites, sulphites, cyanides and sulphides. Most metal surfaces (eg galvanised surfaces, aluminium, copper, zinc and their alloys).
Hazardous decomposition products Oxides of sulphur, Hydrogen chloride - if heated above 200°C or boiled to dryness.
Toxicological Information.
Effects There is no toxicological data available on this product. PAC solutions are not believed to have any significant toxic properties.
Ecological Information.
Environmental Effects On contact with water, PAC will hydrolyse to give dilute hydrochloric acid and gelatinous aluminium hydroxide. Discharge to the aquatic environment should be avoided since it may lead to localized adverse conditions arising from the chemical and physical properties. Clogging of tentacles, gills and filters of suspension feeders and the modification of photosynthesis of algae and plankton may result from the suspended particles and turbidity produced.
